ABOUT

California Music Collective became a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts education organization in 2017. We are a collective of musicians, artists, and educators who believe that arts and arts education are central to benefitting students, young people, and old(er) people alike!

Mission Statement:

CMC was established to create performance and learning opportunities for the growth and development of music and music students. We believe in making innovative, engaging, and fun performances.

Founders:

Andrea Renee Fuentes (@STEMMusix) is a doctoral student at UCLA and a STEM and Music educator. As a singer, she performed lyric soprano roles (e.g., Mimi, Nedda, Donna Anna) in the United States and Europe for over 10 years. As an arts education director, she has worked within every aspect of music performances from stage make-up, lighting, and costume design, to stage direction and producing. An educator at heart, she is happiest when she is helping others. See Andrea's STEM and Music Twitter feed here.

Danielle Stein is a PhD student in the Department of Musicology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her current research examines World War II propaganda music and the development of weaponized music and sonic environments over the 20th and 21st centuries. Also a soprano and an avid community arts producer, Danielle served as the Assistant Artistic Director of the Celestial Opera Company (2014-2017) and is a co-founder of the California Music Collective.
